Since its foundation, Cantina S.Osvaldo concentrated its attention on the typical grapes of its area; DOC Lison-Pramaggiore: Tocai, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet and Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso. This denomination extends in the small geographical area included between Pramaggiore, Portogruaro and Annone Veneto (North East of Italy – near Venice).
The near Adriatic Sea influences the climate. The nature of the soil is alluvial; the structure is clayey-calcareous, especially suitable for red wines like Merlot. In detail, the Loncon area soils are humid, brown-grey colour, olive-yellow variegations, muddy-clayey consistence. The structure is polyedric, resistant, plastic, rich in minerals, calcium carbonate, few small roots and effervescence. In this particular habitat our grapes grow flourishing, producing very good fruits and excellent wines.
